When I first got the call from Anna's mom she explained to me that Ice is an older horse, and they want pictures with him soon since he's getting older. Going to the session I expected an old tired horse, and I honestly expected to brought to tears thinking this horse wasn't going to be around for much longer. However, Ice may be old in age, but he is young in spirit! I smiled so much during this session because watching Anna and Ice interact is exactly the type of relationship every owner wants with their horse. Here's the crazy thing, Anna hasn't owned Ice for very long and bought him knowing that he was retired and couldn't be ridden anymore. This girl, and her mom, have hearts like no other!
It's funny, when I was in high school I remember thinking that there were no other girls in my school who rode horses. There were a couple, but it wasn't something they were passionate about. After I had been out of high school for awhile I started to realize there actually were quite a few girls who were just as passionate as I was, just not in my grade. Rebecca is one of those girls!
We both competed in IHSA for different schools and started to re-connect over Facebook through horse posts and statuses. I was honored when she asked to me to capture her engagement, which of course included her horse. Rebecca and Tyler are such a sweet couple and were laughing all through their session!
I'm trying to catch up on blogging. It's terrible, this session is from last summer! But, anyways, I love when seniors want their horses in their senior pictures! Horses become such a big part of our lives that it only makes sense to include them in major milestones. :) Natalie and her mom are two of the nicest people you could ever meet. I had just as much fun chatting with them as I did taking pictures. :)
